General Notice

In this privacy policy, we describe how we process your data when you use www.varioprint.ch (hereinafter referred to as "Website"), obtain our services or products, enter into a contractual relationship with us, communicate with us, or otherwise engage with us. This privacy policy may be supplemented by additional documents such as contractual terms or additional specific privacy policies.

The Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (DSG) and the Data Protection Ordinance (DSV) generally apply to the processing of your personal data. In some cases, for instance, if you access our website from a member state of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and possibly other national laws of your country also apply. If a specific reference is made to an article of the GDPR, it refers exclusively to the processing of data of persons who are located in the EU or EEA.

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations as well as this privacy policy.

In cooperation with our hosting providers, we strive to protect the processed personal data as well as possible from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or falsification.

We point out that data transmission over the internet (e.g., when communicating by email) can have security vulnerabilities. A complete protection of the data from access by third parties is not possible.

By using this website, you consent to the collection, processing, and use of data as described below. This website can generally be visited without registration. Data such as accessed pages or names of retrieved files, date, and time are stored on the server for statistical purposes without these data being directly related to your person. Personal data, particularly name, address, or email address, are collected on a voluntary basis as far as possible.

Processing of personal data

"Personal data" means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. An "affected person" is a person about whom personal data are processed. "Processing" includes any handling of personal data regardless of the means and procedures used, particularly the storing, disclosing, acquiring, deleting, saving, modifying, destroying, and using personal data.

We process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection law. Moreover, as far as the EU GDPR is applicable, we process personal data according to the following legal bases in connection with Art. 6(1) GDPR:

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) - The data subject has given consent to the processing of personal data concerning them for one or more specific purposes.
  • Performance of a contract and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) - The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party or to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) - The processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject.
  • Protection of vital interests (Art. 6(1)(d) GDPR) - The processing is necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) - The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller or a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of personal data.

Application procedures as pre-contractual or contractual relationships (Art. 9(2)(b) GDPR) - To the extent that special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9(1) GDPR (e.g., health data) are requested from applicants as part of the application procedure so that the controller or the data subject can exercise their rights arising from employment law and social security and social protection law and fulfill their obligations in this regard, their processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 9(2)(b) GDPR. In the case of the protection of vital interests of the applicants or other persons, Art. 9(2)(c) GDPR, or for purposes of preventive or occupational medicine, for the assessment of the working capacity of the employee, medical diagnosis, the provision of health or social care or treatment, or the management of health or social care systems and services pursuant to Art. 9(2)(h) GDPR. In the case of voluntary consent based disclosure of special categories of data, their processing is based on Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR.

We process personal data for the duration required for the respective purpose or purposes. In the case of long-term storage obligations due to legal and other obligations to which we are subject, we restrict the processing accordingly.

Relevant legal basis

According to Art. 13 GDPR, we inform you of the legal basis of our data processing. If the legal basis is not mentioned in the privacy policy, the following applies: The legal basis for obtaining consent is Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 7 GDPR, the legal basis for processing for the performance of our services and implementation of contractual measures as well as responding to inquiries is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, the legal basis for processing to fulfill our legal obligations is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, and the legal basis for processing to protect our legitimate interests is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Art. 6(1)(d) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

Safety measures

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures in accordance with the legal requirements, taking into account the state of the art, implementation costs, and the nature, scope, circumstances, and purposes of the processing, as well as the varying likelihood and severity of the risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk.

The measures include, in particular, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data by controlling physical and electronic access to the data as well as the access, input, transfer, securing of availability, and separation of the data. Furthermore, we consider the protection of personal data already during the development or selection of hardware, software, and procedures according to the principle of data protection through technology design and through data protection-friendly default settings.

Transfer of personal data

In the course of our processing of personal data, it may happen that the data are transferred to other locations, companies, legally independent organizational units, or persons, or they are disclosed to them. Among the recipients of these data may be service providers commissioned with IT tasks or providers of services and content that are embedded in a website, as well as other group companies. Additionally, we transmit personal data to the following recipients: logistics service providers (in connection with the shipping of our products), collection agencies (if we need to assert our claims through legal enforcement), marketing agencies (which support us in our marketing activities), law firms (in case of disputes), offices, courts, and other authorities (if we are legally obliged or entitled to do so or it appears necessary to protect our interests).

In such cases, we comply with the legal requirements and, if required by law, enter into corresponding contracts or agreements with the recipients of your data to ensure the protection of your data.

Disclosure in Third Countries

If we process data in a third country (i.e., outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA)) or if this happens in the context of using third-party services or disclosing or transferring data to other persons, entities, or companies, this will only occur in compliance with the legal requirements.

Subject to express consent or contractual or legally required transfer, we process the data only in third countries with a recognized level of data protection, contractual obligation through so-called standard protection clauses of the EU Commission, in the presence of certifications, or binding internal data protection regulations (Art. 44 to 49 GDPR).

Cookies

Cookies

This website uses cookies. Cookies are text files that contain data from visited websites or domains and are stored by a browser on the user's computer. A cookie primarily serves to store information about a user during or after their visit within an online offering. Stored information may include, for example, language settings on a website, the login status, a shopping cart, or the point where a video was watched. The term cookies also include other technologies that perform the same functions as cookies (e.g., when user information is stored using pseudonymous online identifiers, also referred to as "user IDs").

The following cookie types and functions are distinguished:

  • Temporary cookies (also: session or session cookies): Temporary cookies are deleted at the latest after a user has left an online offer and closed their browser.
  • Permanent cookies: Permanent cookies remain stored even after closing the browser. For example, the login status can be saved or preferred content can be displayed directly when the user revisits a website. Likewise, the interests of users that are used for reach measurement or marketing purposes can be stored in such a cookie.
  • First-party cookies: First-party cookies are set by us.
  • Third-party cookies (also: third-party cookies): Third-party cookies are mainly used by advertisers (so-called third parties) to process user information.
  • Necessary (also: essential or strictly necessary) cookies: Cookies can be strictly necessary for the operation of a website (e.g., to save logins or other user entries or for security reasons).
  • Statistics, marketing, and personalization cookies: Furthermore, cookies are generally used in the context of reach measurement and when the interests of a user or their behavior (e.g., viewing certain content, using functions, etc.) on individual websites are stored in a user profile. Such profiles serve, for instance, to display content that corresponds to the potential interests of users. This process is also referred to as "tracking", i.e., the tracking of the potential interests of users. Insofar as we use cookies or "tracking" technologies, we will inform you separately in our privacy policy or in the context of obtaining consent.

Notes on Legal Bases: The legal basis on which we process your personal data using cookies depends on whether we ask for your consent. If this is the case and you consent to the use of cookies, the legal basis for the processing of your data is the declared consent. Otherwise, the data processed using cookies are based on our legitimate interests (e.g., in the economic operation of our online offering and its improvement) or, if the use of cookies is necessary, to fulfill our contractual obligations.

Storage Duration: Unless we provide you with explicit information on the storage duration of permanent cookies (e.g., within the framework of a so-called cookie opt-in), please assume that the storage duration can be up to two years.

General Information on Revocation and Objection (Opt-Out): Depending on whether the processing is based on consent or legal permission, you have the option at any time to revoke a given consent or to object to the processing of your data using cookie technologies (collectively referred to as "Opt-Out"). You can initially declare your objection using your browser settings, for example, by deactivating the use of cookies (although this may limit the functionality of our online offering). An objection to the use of cookies for online marketing purposes can also be declared via a variety of services, especially in the case of tracking, through the websites optout.aboutads.info and www.youronlinechoices.com. Furthermore, you can receive additional information on objections within the context of information on the used service providers and cookies.

Processing of Cookie Data Based on Consent: We use a cookie consent management procedure in which the consents of users for the use of cookies, or the processing and providers mentioned within the cookie consent management procedure, are obtained and managed and can be revoked by users. The consent declaration is stored to avoid having to repeat the query and to be able to prove the consent according to the legal obligation. The storage can take place server-side and/or in a cookie (so-called opt-in cookie or by means of comparable technologies) to be able to assign the consent to a user or their device. Subject to individual specifications of the providers of cookie management services, the following notes apply: The duration of the storage of the consent can be up to two years. A pseudonymous user identifier is formed and stored with the time of consent, information on the scope of the consent (e.g., which categories of cookies and/or service providers), as well as the browser, system, and used end device.

  • Processed Data Types: Usage data (e.g., visited websites, interest in content, access times), meta/communication data (e.g., device information, IP addresses).
  • Affected Persons: Users (e.g., website visitors, users of online services).
  • Legal Bases: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Google Maps

This website uses the Google Maps service. This allows us to display interactive maps directly on the website and enables you to comfortably use the map function. By visiting the website, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account that you are logged into or if no user account exists. If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want your data to be associated with your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data in usage profiles and uses it for purposes of advertising, market research and/or demand-oriented design of its website. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular (even for users who are not logged in) to provide demand-oriented advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, for which you must contact Google. You can find more information on the purpose and scope of the data collection and its processing by Google, as well as further information on your rights in this regard and settings options to protect your privacy, at: www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Google Ads

This website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you reached our website via an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set on your computer by Google Ads. The conversion tracking cookie is set when a user clicks on an ad placed by Google. These cookies expire after 30 days and do not serve to personally identify users. If the user visits certain pages on our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and Google can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Therefore, cookies cannot be tracked across websites of Ads customers. The information obtained through the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive information that could be used to personally identify users.

If you do not wish to participate in the tracking, you can decline the setting of the required cookie - for example, via your browser settings that generally deactivate the automatic setting of cookies or configure your browser to block cookies from the domain "googleleadservices.com".

Please note that you must not delete the opt-out cookies as long as you do not wish any recording of measurement data to take place. If you have deleted all cookies in your browser, you will need to set the respective opt-out cookie again.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited. If the entity responsible for data processing on this website is located outside the European Economic Area or Switzerland, then Google Analytics data processing is carried out by Google LLC. Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited are hereinafter referred to as "Google".

The collected statistics allow us to improve our offerings and make them more interesting for you as a user. This website also uses Google Analytics for cross-device analysis of visitor flows, which is performed using a User ID. If you have a Google user account, you can disable cross-device analysis of your usage in the "My Data" > "Personal Data" settings.

The legal basis for using Google Analytics is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google. We inform you that on this website, Google Analytics was extended by the code "_anonymizeIp();" to ensure an anonymized collection of IP addresses. IP addresses are thus processed in a truncated form, precluding any person-relatability. To the extent that the data collected about you has a personal reference, this is immediately excluded and the personal data is promptly deleted.

Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your usage of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide further services related to website and internet usage to the website operator.

Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the USA. You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly; however, we inform you that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting and processing the data generated by the cookie related to your usage of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: Disable Google Analytics.

Furthermore, you can prevent the use of Google Analytics by clicking on this link: Disable Google Analytics. This will store an opt-out cookie on your data carrier that prevents the processing of personal data by Google Analytics. Please note that if you delete all cookies on your terminal device, you will also have to set the opt-out cookie again if you wish to continue preventing this form of data collection. The opt-out cookie is set per browser and computer/terminal device and must therefore be activated separately for each browser, computer or other terminal device.

Google Web Fonts

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for uniform font display. When a page is accessed, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used.

The data will be deleted as soon as the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled. You can find further information on the handling of the transmitted data in Gstatic's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
